A little of this...a little of that...

The days here have been sort of warm and sort of cold...I know, it's Utah. I'm not complaining. I actually really like the on again off again weather!  This last weekend was a good one though, so we had ourselves a blast!

Saturday we went to Oak City to see Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Steve...
Before we went, though, the boys did some mowing...even Camden!

After a WAY TOO LONG ride we made it all in one piece to Oak City...where the boys promptly hijacked Grandpa's new Razor...

While they tore the town up, Grandpa, Grandma, Camden, Addy, and I all took a ride up Oak City Canyon.
Last time we saw Grandma and Grandpa, Grandpa told Addy he knows where Smokey the Bear's cabin is...that is ALL she has talked about since that time...So we took a ride and, I'll be darned, he did indeed know where Smokey's Cabin is!

We took a picture or two so that Addy could take them for Show and Tell this week.

Then, when Smokey didn't answer the door, we had to see what was inside...
According to Addy, Smokey is not a great housekeeper.

We weren't in a hurry to get back so we drove further up the canyon and stopped to stretch our legs, gather pine cones, test the creek water for temperature, and smell the pine trees to see if they were butterscotch...

Camden and Grandma saw a grasshopper on the road and Camden ALMOST caught it!

Grandma helped Camden and Addy find branches that would be good to turn into sling shots...

Then Grandpa helped cut them down so they would fit in the truck...

Grandpa's knife needed a good sharpening...so Camden lent him his...

The boys didn't mind being left behind...
They cruised for girls
and even took it offroading so Holden could drive some too

We had a grand old time at the Oak City Park...

And then Grandpa and the boys went shooting while us girls stayed home to play and visit

After a yummy dinner outside, Grandpa took Camden offroading so that Camden could drive!

While Grandpa and Camden were gone...
the rest of us got our goof on!

Even Grandma!

and mom!

Addy took the camera and took some pictures of our beautiful surroundings...

We had SUCH a good time! We played and laughed and talked and rode and saw and just had ourselves a BLAST!
I feel so lucky to have Grandpa Steve, Grandma Ellen and the whole Allred clan to call family! I just can't find a downside to it at all! We love them and we're pretty sure they love us.
And my kids adored being able to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa!

Sunday evening Grandma Peg and Grandpa Alan brought us Grandpa's old hammock!  The kids thought Christmas had come early!  They began a rousing game of "King of the Hammock" and the fun didn't end until bedtime!  Seriously! They were hilarious!

Here's Addy and Holden fighting it out...it was kind of like trying to knock someone off a tube into the water...Addy was pretty scrappy.

I am so looking forward to summer and being able to spend more time together! Lots of fun things to look forward to for sure! Weddings and parades and family fun!

I gotta say too...I know it's sappy...but I just loved spending time with my kids and just being people...I have great kids. They are HILARIOUS! They kept me rolling all day long.  They are good kids...mostly when they don't think I'm watching, they really do take care of each other. And they just make me proud to be their mom.
AWWWWWWW!
