It used to be at Christmas, but now it's every summer after Round Up! Us true Lehians can't go without attending Lehi Round Up every year...so it really was a no brainer when it came to changing the annual Gordon Family Christmas Party to the annual Gordon Family Reunion! This is the 4th year we've done it during the summer and it's been great! This year was no exception. We (my sisters in law and I) were in charge this year and I gotta say, I married into a great family!
Melissa came up with fun games for everyone...the adults and older kids took a quiz about family history and learned some funny things about grandparents and aunts and uncles...the kids got to make their own family crest...we played Name the family with tidbits of information we each wrote down and she read...and we took pictures of the whole clan with the cool banner she had made with the real Gordon Family crest on it. Thanks Aunt Missy! It was so fun to learn new things and find out what everyone has been up to this year!
Aunt Natalie provided a pinata that turned out to be much sturdier than we had realized ;) or maybe it was just all that candy she crammed into it. Either way, it was a HUGE hit and the kids loved it!
Here are a few pictures from the day...I didn't get many because we were busy getting food out and wrapping tape around the tables to hold the table clothes down...good old Lehi wind!
Forget Ring around the Rosies...we prefer Ring around the filthy barbeque pit!
A few of the lovely ladies and one handsome man!
Do you see that good old wind billowing under the taped down table clothes? Yeesh!
The infamous, indestructible pinata met it's match!
We had such a good time! We can't wait to see everyone next year!
